Our partner in Romania is Catalina Stan, Managing Director of BDR Associates, the leading Public Relations and Public affairs company in Romania.
Catalina has a wealth of experience in designing, planning and coordinating PR, PA and strategic communication campaigns for more then 200 local and international clients. She was Secretary of State in the Romanian Prime Ministerial Chancellery in 2005 responsible with internal and external communication support. She also has extensive experience in national communication campaigns financed by donors such as USAID, the EU, the World Bank in Romania and in the Republic of Moldova.
She coordinated and implemented the overall organization and development of a USAID funded public awareness campaign on privatization, private initiative and market economy development, titled “Good Morning, Romania!”, between 1993 and 1995. Previously she led the international cooperation department of the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks and initiated and organized the process of implementing a copyright system according to the requirements of the Western Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
Currently as President and CEO of BDR Associates, she coordinates all the projects developed by the firm. These have included work as a Strategic Communication Consultant on mining sector restructuring; as project director of a World Bank financed project for the implementation of Public Awareness on Moldova’s Health Reform; and the creation of PR campaign strategies and action plans for CSR programmes developed for clients such as Procter & Gamble and ABN AMRO.
Catalina specialises in management of crisis situations faced by her national and international clients. She has also undertaken communication, PR and media training for diverse clients including the Romanian Centre for Independent Journalism (training for journalists), the Government of Romania (training seminars for governmental spokespersons) and the Government of Moldova (training seminars for governmental spokespersons.
For three years in a row Catalina was selected among the finalists in the 100 most successful Romanian women made by Capital Magazine. She has featured in articles, comments and analyses in business magazines such as Capital, Business Review, BIZ, Banii Nostrii, and opinion leading newspapers such as Evenimentul Zilei. She also has a presence on TV talk shows on National Romanian Television, Realitatea, Antena 1, and Prima TV. She is an active member of AmCham Romania, the British Chamber of Commerce in Romania, and IPRA.
